Choosing the Right Zither Strings for Your Zither
Choosing the Right Zither Strings for Your Zither:
All zither strings are not created equal, nor are all zither strings made specifically for your type of zither. We supply all types of zither strings from the best string manufactures and can help you find the strings which match your type of zither and your specific needs in playing that zither. Simply contact us at zitherinternational@gmail.com and we will help you find the perfect match at a great price. Each purchase helps us to raise funds to host the International Zither Gathering.
What Makes Us Different? We don't just sell zither strings, we actually play and perform zither music; have been in the industry for many years; and care about our zither friends having what they need for their best experience in playing the zither. When we tell you there is a difference in the types of strings on the market, it is because we have tried them out and we have experienced the difference. We are here to help you make an informed decision and save you the time and expense of purchasing the wrong strings.
Thumb rings are one of our most important tools as a zither player. The regular thumb ring (left) is for striking the fretboard strings with a forward motion, and the back stroke ring (right) is for striking the fretboard strings both forward and backward. Getting the right size is essential, so contact us at zitherinternational@gmail.com and we will help you choose the right size thumb ring.
If you are choosing to do some repair work on your zither and need the proper tuning pegs, we have you covered. We carry the standard square tuning pegs, plus two levels of repair tuning pegs if your current tuning pegs are too loose. Contact us and we will be glad to give you a quote for what you are looking for.
Zither feet are part of what we need to play our concert zithers. Sometimes they need to be replaced out of necessity, yet other times you may change them due to choice. We carry feet with a nailed tip or rubber tip to suit your needs.
FYI - As windings have changed over the years, you may want to have a professional install them, as the holes in your zither may need to be re-wound to accommodate new feet. Contact us if you have questions or would like to know more.
When restringing your zither, you want to clean and polish your whole instrument. Bellacura is our favorite polish to clean and help preserve the finish on zithers. We have this available for purchase, or we can re-string your zither for you - and this would include us polishing your zither with Bellacura.
Zither Case handles can wear out over time. If you need a simple solution that will last for years to come, we have zither case handles to help you. Let us know what style of case handle you are needing and we will be glad to help you get what you need..
Keeping all those zither strings in tune is made easier with the right type of electronic tuner. What I like about ours is that it can clip to your zither table, the spindle on your Harp zither, or onto a tuning peg. with the adjustable head you can see it clearly wherever you place it. We are here to support you in having the tools you need to be successful in your zither journey.
